Harold White Residence  (#1) - ca. 1914
741 N. Sheridan Road - Evanston, Illinois

Originally with a green clay tile roof, the White Residence has "Natco" tile (a hollow clay tile with a stucco surface) exterior walls like the Cluever and Webster houses.  This building is most notable for its delicately fine leaded glass windows and its green and buff color scheme throughout.   Even the quarry tiles used on the porches are green instead of the usual red.
The house is on a lot with views overlooking  Lake Michigan.  All the land to the lake used to belong to this property.  It is now subdivided and other houses sit between this and the lake.  There are some alterations including the enclosure of the front entrance way,  under the protective awning, and the large rear second floor open porch.  Also the entire back entry has been altered.
