How unfortunate that this house has been so considerably altered, because the house was unique among Van Bergen's early pre-war designs. It is difficult to judge what the original house looked like. Brick veneer has been applied over the stucco, and the veranda and bedroom balcony have been enclosed. A unique detail, for Van Bergen, is the partial gabled roof lines which are complimented by the diagonal pattern of the window mullions and trim. The building permit is dated April 14, 1914.
