Harold Klock Residence - ca. 1940
306 S. County Line Road - Hinsdale, Illinois

Heavily altered, this structure has lost most of the rustic and naturalistic character it once had.  There have been some major changes, some tastefully done, some not.  A huge four car garage has been added, all the windows replaced and the wood cedar roof shingles have been replaced.  The front double entry doors have been replaced with modern factory built leaded glass doors and the outside lamps have been replaced with coach lamps which do not reflect  Van Bergen's subtle good taste in these things.
However, we should count our blessings.  Landmark buildings in Hinsdale are disappearing at an alarming rate, and this is one of few remaining landmarks in this tear-down crazed community that still stands at all.
