This house has been the recipient of some major alterations, (to say the least). At the request of Mr. Hamilton, the third story, designed by the architectural firm of Tallmadge and Watson, was added in August, 1924. Mr. Hamilton's father, Henry Raymond Hamilton Sr., was the Village President of Oak Park from 1907 to 1909. He wrote a book called "Footprints" about his reminiscences of living in Chicago in the early days of the city. His great uncle, Gurdon S. Hubbard, who related many stories to him as a child, was a distinguished early pioneer and Chicago founder. The original permit for the house is dated April 30, 1914.
