John and Frank Van Bergen Cottage - ca. 1915
On Long Lake in Phelps Wisconsin (Near Eagle River)

          John and his brother, Frank built this cottage for themselves.  Members of the Van Bergen family visited and stayed there quite often.
          Quite a rustic cottage, there was no indoor plumbing.  A huge fireplace dominated the living room.  There has been extensive remodeling over the years - much done by the Van Bergens themselves.
