Victor Swanson was a carpenter who worked for the Giertz-Melahn Company which was a general contracting firm that worked with Van Bergen on Chicago Junior School. This house is next door to the Courtney Krich Residence, built next door in 1952. Krich was the superintendent of the Giertz Company. The original stucco of the building was a salmon pink color. Photos from 1977 show the exterior trim painted blue. This is surely not the original color and made the building look rather silly. The building is still in excellent condition, but because the flat, ponded roof leaked, gabled roofs have been added that dramatically alter the architecture.
