This small cubic house is stucco on concrete block or tile. This is the first known flat roofed residential design by Van Bergen. Inside the walls and ceilings were stained fir plywood paneling. They have been replaced with drywall. The floors originally were black asbestos tiles. The house is filled with all kinds of built-in storage. The flat ponded roof could be flooded for cooling the house. The original building permit was issued in August, 1935. Van Bergen also designed a kitchen addition and sleeping porch over the garage in 1939.
