Frank and Jessie Van Bergen Residence #2 - 1948
Portola Road, 4 North of Lucas Road  - Carmel, California

          Van Bergen designed this small residence for his brother and sister.  Frank preceded John to California by some years - Jessie came out after the death of her husband - and succeeded in luring John and Ruth to follow later.  They loved the climate, the mountains and the ocean and stayed for the remainder of their lives.  (The above photo of a Van Bergen designed building is not positively identified, but is probably Frank and Jessie's home in Carmel.)
