Correspondence, 1912-1913: Design and construction

Letter from George Grant Elmslie to William Gray Purcell (December 15, 1913)

Dear Willie,

The Linden people who are making the two disks took them to get them out on time. They expect to work over time to do it. So in hope we trust--

Got your telegram and will send the lighting fixtures to night. I really thought you were having them done yourself. I do hope everything will come out all serene. I can't arrive on the 26 as you suggest. The families don't want me to go away Christmas night. Except for that I'd gladly come and sooner--

off, Geo.

Will go out to Waukegan Wednesday or Thursday-- Hope the express package arrives safely with drawings and stencils.

MAYBE the 6" semi-globe is too small.

How about an 8" too big?

I prefer the NET shape to the flaring rim--

Law wants 20 apiece cords " "25 "tubes

11-1/2 seems a long ways from the wall, but the 10" square doesn't look too big considering.

The 4 cords of the fine French silk type maybe the most effective scheme. The more I think the better I like the idea.

Geo.
