No man was happier in winning his bride than George Grant Elmslie. The couple set up their new home in Minneapolis, where George Elmslie had just become a partner in the firm of Purcell, Feick and Elmslie. This dining room set was designed by him as a gift to his wife.
Provenance notes: The table and chairs passed from Elmslie to his sister Edith, in 1953. From her, possession of the set passed to David S. Gebhard. Following his death, the table entered into the collection of a museum.
