          Since being turned over to the Park District due to declining enrollment, these buildings are still heavily used for new purposes.  The fireplace in Van Bergen's auditorium still warms those who come for meetings and events.  Architect, Walter Sobel worked with Van Bergen on this design as a draftsman.
          The entire original common brick exterior has been painted white, is now peeling and makes the building quite ugly.
