The permit records are dated June 14, 1928 and show the owner as Raymond Watts. May Theilgaard Watts was a contemporary of Jens Jensen and a noted naturalist as well. She lived in Ravinia from 1928 to 1940. Besides developing nature trails in Highland Park, she wrote three books: Ravinia. Her Charms and Destiny, Reading the Landscape of America, and Reading the Landscape of Europe.&.
The fire place in the living room is a little disappointing - it is not the focal point of the room and off to one corner, away from activity.
