Lucille, (the daughter of Mr. Otis of Otis Elevator fame) commissioned this house around 1952. It is one of only two remaining examples that are intact and in original condition (with its flat roofs, colors and common brick) of this era and style of Van Bergen's architecture. He designed several of these houses from about 1946 to 1952. His own description of the house: "Common brick walls, waterproofed. Flat roofs. Interesting high ceilinged living room with dining room and library wings. Views towards countryside lowlands. Studio for sculpture. greenhouse. Interesting floor plan."
