Remodeling of a row of ancient stores with apartments above.

In view of the many current references to the feebleness of the "pipe rail architecture" of the post-depression era, comments on which will be found later in this record, an amusing fact colors this very first thing we ever built. The most conspicuous feature of this design were the pipe railings!! A whole half block of them there were, around steps and areas leading to various minor shops in the basement.
