Charles A. Purcell Residence #1 , decorations
Purcell and Feick
River Forest, Illinois  1913

Text by William Gray Purcell
Parabiographies entry, Volume for 1914

Job Date (in Parabiography): March 19, 1914

C. A. PURCELL, River Forest

Redecorating. We designed leaded glass for all the windows in this house and removed the parallel horizontal wooden [blank space] which had been the window pattern when the house was built. We also installed a very rich pattern in sawed wood to replace the spindels in the opening above the fireplace seat, designed new electric fixtures, some special furniture, new rugs and curtains, new decorations. There was also a sawed wood panel in the tympanum of the proch which was carried out in polychrome under Mr. Elmslie's direction - altogether a very complete and interesting decorative result.
