James E. Moore residence, project
Purcell and Elmslie
Minneapolis, Minnesota   1914

Presentation drawing, ground floor plan (low resolution view)
Colored pencil and pen on paper, mounted on masonite panel

A higher resolution view can be found here.

This drawing of the proposed ground floor plan was mounted on a large masonite panel by John Jager in preparation for the Purcell and Elmslie exhibition at the Walker Art Center in 1953.  The selection of this unbuilt house for exhibit at the first scholarly recognition of the firm's work is interesting.  Purcell talks about the client but not the design in his Parabiographies entry.

Collection: Possibly this is now housed at the Northwest Architectural Archives, but I don't know.  Was located in the traveling exhibit plywood storage cases held by David Gebhard in 1981.
