The group of built structures built for this Christian college has been placed on the National Register of Historical Places as the Yankton College Historic District; added 1982, Yankton County #82003949A; whole district contains 250 acres, 9 buildings, 2 structures).

The college closed in 1984, and a Federal Prison Camp was opened on the former campus in 1988.
