Competitions and Exhibitions

Early on, the firm presented their work to the public and to their peers in a series of exhibitions.  Architectural clubs in Chicago, Pittsburgh, and other thriving, mostly Midwestern cities held annual gatherings to which many progressive architects submitted entries.  The firm also entered a variety of competitions, the entries mostly consisting of designs for small, affordable houses.  The work of the practice was honored with the first full scale, academically-oriented galleries of their work shown at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1953.
