This site has been on line for over twelve years in one form or another. On average 2,500 visitors a year, excluding search bots, have spent at least some time here. The contents of these web pages are cited in reference books, essays, and masters theses.  The present incarnation has been served since 2001 entirely at my own expense, with the costs for web host bandwidth and equipment coming to more than $9,600. It was shocking to add that up, and then to realize how much of that sum is being carried as debt. The number doesn't include any measure of the thousands of hours of my own time in putting up content. Since 2001, two unsolicited donations have been made totaling $125. The situation being what it is, things have got to shift toward the better or Organica will join the ranks of deceased sites. I am doing what I can to move forward with other affiliate program-based web sites that can carry water, but Organica has always been and will remain (as long as it does remain) a non-commercial community resource. However, that doesn't pay the postage.
