Editor's Note: Yes, I know, many people miss The Grinds. But as can be seen in the lack of time I have been lately able to spend on these pages, the necessities of making a living leave me with little opportunity to spend the 15-20 hours that a Grind typically took to generate. I am working through research materials for the P&E book, which I hope someday to have the financial wherewithal to complete writing. Meanwhile the first monograph on the firm, which I published in 1994, remains available here. I am continuing to integrate that text with links throughout the site and adding in-line illustrations as time permits.
